1) I had my first day as a part-time band director. I promptly left school as soon as recruiting was complete. There was none of that extra work to do or phone calls to make. (That is the only perk to being part-time). I am, however, grateful to be back working with and drinking Starbucks with JB, and making music with the students again--whether I'm part-time or not.
2) While waiting for students to arrive in the gym where we were presenting our presentation, I decided to attempt climbing one of those wall peg boards (pictured below). I usually ignore those things completely when I enter a gym as I am well aware of my incapacity to pull myself up using only my arms/upper body strength. This blog, however, has caused me to turn over a new leaf and try things I've never tried before. The result was...predictably bleak. I could not move up even one row above where I could reach while standing. I do not plan to try this again.
You know this guy is standing on a stack of books or his buddy's back!
3) I registered my Starbucks card so I can get Starbucks rewards = free soy and syrups and a free drink on my birthday. This is the beginning of an even better friendship with SBUX! How has it taken me this long to do this?
4) Last, but not least, I had the long awaited pleasure of carrying 4 giant boxes and 1 small box into our apartment when I got home today. That's right, the Sleep Number bed has arrived. It was a bit of a maze getting to the door and now I can't see the TV. Thankfully Ben and I plan to assemble it tonight. And as we will most likely finish it in the wee hours of tomorrow morning we can all guess what tomorrow's new thing will be. Until then, enjoy your dinner and breakfast!
See? No view of the TV from the couch.
