Transformers 3

I realize that it seems I have given up on doing something new everyday...but that is hardly the case! My lack of posts is merely a result of doing things too late at night and being too lazy to blog.  Anyway, I am now making amends!

Thursday evening my husband and I went to Transformers 3 at 9:30pm.  I almost dropped my $20 bill in shock when the ticket seller said, "Uh, that'll be $24."  When I stared at her with my jaw hanging she quickly added, "Oh, it's in 3D."  Strangely enough, that did make me feel better. I hadn't been to a 3D movie since Avatar and I felt like I was due.  Therefore, I hastily asked Ben to hand her 4 more dollars and we made our way to the theater.  Since this movie has been out for awhile, and because we were there so late on a Thursday evening, there were only 2 other people in the theater. I have to admit it is nice to not worry about being polite for others while watching a movie. I tend to share my appreciation of special effects with those around me...and this movie had a ton of awesome special effects.

I really enjoyed this film.  I know I loved it way more than the 2nd Transformers movie.  I believe this is a result of three main things:
1) They filmed in Milwaukee at our beloved art museum (see pic below)
2) They filmed in and destroyed Chicago (with awesome special effects).  I love Chicago!
3) There was no Megan Fox.

I also appreciated the fact that Sam got to kick some butt this time.  He got the chance to be a bit more of an instigator than always reacting and just surviving.  I did not like Patrick Dempsey's character. I thought the movie would've been fine without him, albeit we'd have missed out on his sweet rides.  I do recommend this movie to anybody up for great action/adventure and very good effects.  Go quickly, though, because I don't think it will be in theaters for too much longer!
