Day 3 - Dinner at Jazz in the Park

This entry is going to be quick because it's late and I'm sleepy.  Today Ben and I attended Jazz in the Park.  Although I have gone once before maybe 5 or 6 years ago, this was the first time we took part in the "full experience".  Now, you may be wondering what the "full experience" includes.  Well, I'll tell you:

-  First, you must arrive early to get a good spot in the "blankets only" section near the front. (we most definitely did this).
- Second, you must bring food and drink. Preferrably something healthy and chique.  I made us turkey and bacon foccacia sandwiches, packed BLT pasta salad and oreo brownies for dessert.  Since you cannot bring in alcohol, we had two ice cold IBC root beers. It was great!
-  Third, stay for the entire awesome performance (6-9pm...it was fabulous).

We were lucky to hear Mama Digdown's Brass Band. They started with some New Orleans style big band and later transitioned to some funkier tunes as well as Michael Jackson classics.  It wasl ots of fun and I hope this is a new tradition that Ben and I can do more often...perhaps we'll have some friends join us as well.

This is all that was left of our fabulous meal by
the time I remembered to take a picture.
