The Marinated Cheese and Other Favorite Things

I had the lovely opportunity to make some brand new recipes for a little get-together this weekend.  I tend to save up appetizer/dessert ideas and then have so many to choose from that I can't decide and make too much.  This weekend, however, I exercised some restraint and selected two from my list.  The first, Raspberry Lemonade Bars, were delicious but a little finicky to pull together.  The results were pretty good, though they did not turn out as pretty as I was hoping (therefore, you will see no pictures of those).

The second new adventure in cooking was the highly successful Marinated Cheese.  Basically, it is exactly what it sounds like.  White cheddar and cream cheese, sliced and sandwiched together, marinated in an assortment of vinegars, roasted peppers and spices that are absolutely awesome.  I then served the cheese on toasted french bread. I'm actually very glad I have some left over this time as it is an excellent snack.  If I had the time, I'd marinate all my cheese.

I also celebrated 11/11/11 by spending my monthly allowance on two very new and exciting items.  You will find them pictured below with Claude...the monster...who is almost as excited as I am!

NANOWRIMOUPDA and Angela's Corner of Self-Discovery:  I am really, really, really behind on my word count...like 12,000 words behind.  I discovered today that I need some help.  Feel free to leave your inspirational pep talks and/or threats as comments below!

  1. I have not yet read this post...but I just saw marinated cheese (drool!) and Harry Potter (would you believe I almost forgot to buy it on Friday!?). So for some reason I had to comment and say that... That is all.
