New Lesson Venue and POTTERMORE!

I have been teaching private music lessons to middle school kids for over eight years and it is hilariously fun and rewarding. The other day, for example, I was trying to get a student to identify the  country of origin (Ireland) of a folk song I was playing (O Danny Boy). After multiple wrong guesses I started giving hints--country in Europe, starts with an 'I', etc. After some more wrong guesses I offered my clue of last resort: "They have leprechauns there." The kid's eyes lit up and he shouts with  confidence, "RUSSIA!" I could barely keep a straight face but quickly blurted out that it's Ireland already.

Anyway, the point of this is that I started teaching lessons at a new venue today--the music store where my husband works. I have one student so far but should get a bunch more in the next weeks. I enjoyed it: my student is cute, the staff is nice and it's nice to get out and teach somewhere new. Let me know if you want woodwind lessons!

The really awesome thing about today is that I finally got into POTTERMORE! Here is a screenshot of my name in the book of magical folk from months ago (this makes me smile):

Now that I'm in I can read all kinds of new material and back stories, get officially sorted (here's hoping for Gryffindor), duel people, and brew potions. I've only just started playing with it so I don't have much to report yet. I'll keep you posted...off to explore!
