So, today I'm apparently having my first allergic reaction to mosquito bites. This wasn't on my original list of new things to try, but I'd heard such good things about it, I just couldn't resist.
It all started on Saturday when I was attending my mom-in-law's/dog-in-laws birthday party. It was so nice outside--which is very strange for this time of year, by the way--that we stayed outdoors all night. I didn't even realize mosquitoes were out until the evening was almost over. I swatted a few away from my bare calves, ankles and feet and went inside. It wasn't until this morning (Monday) that I realized what had happened. My feet were burning as the hot water touched them in the shower this morning, and I looked down to see this:

I wasn't wearing my shoes in the shower...I took this photo later. Anyway, it took all I had to resist scratching all day. I finally got some anti-itch spray only moments ago and am now basking in the great relief it is bringing. Both legs/feet/ankles look like the above pictured foot. I've never had an allergic reaction to anything before, let alone bugs. I really hope this isn't a new thing that will stick around!
UPDATE: I WAS ATTACKED BY NOSEEUMS(SANDFLIES)...NOT MOSQUITOES. THIS TERRIBLE ITCHING COULD STICK AROUND FOR 3 MORE DAYS YET. READ MORE ABOUT NOSEEUMS HERE.

Are you doing better? :)
ReplyDeleteWe have LOTS of Noseums around here. LOTS in the summer only.
ReplyDeleteWell watch out! They suck!
