The Results That Were Bound To Happen Eventually

I suppose I should be proud that this hasn't happened until now,  but I really did not like today's new thing.   I spent the last two days in Madison at music teacher convention which typically involves a lot of eating out with friends and colleagues.   Today was no exception.   Due to a freak texting mishap,  I just barely joined three friends for lunch at an Italian restaurant a stone's throw away from the Capitol.  After impressing the waitor with my stealthy entrance and subsequent sudden appearance at my friends' table,  I asked his recommendation for a smaller portioned but delicious meal.   He happily recommended the Spinach &  Lentils (though it sounded much more delicious in Italian...trust me!   Anyway, he seemed very confident in his recommendation and I thought to myself,  "Hey,  this is something new...for the blog...and how bad could it be really if this guy likes it so much? "  I decided to take his advice and order this so-called "Dark Horse" of the menu.

All I can say is that there is a reason the white stallion usually wins the race.   The lentils weren't so bad but the super salty spinach and the goat cheese killed my appetite almost immediately.   This would've been an excellent side dish--especially since I ate about 9 spoonfuls before I just couldn't eat anymore.   I enjoy eating things that taste good,  otherwise what is the point?

I can tell you that I felt rather healthy after my lunch was "complete".   I'm not sure if that's due to the veggie-focused,  meatless nature of the dish or the fact that I hardly ate anything. At least I can cross "Eat lentils,  spinach and goat cheese all in one dish" off my list of things to try.

I know, what was I thinking?!
NANOWRIMOUPDA:  I had the wonderful opportunity to work on hammering out details of my novel today.   I've named my three main characters,  established a pretty solid setting and started working out the timeline.   I did this while chilling in a Madison Starbucks watching all the trick-or-treaters pass by.   I saw roughly 8 Star Wars characters, 2 blonde Harry Potters,  4 Spidermen,  2 sets of Mario and Luigi,  2 sets of Buzz and Woody,  9 fairies, bumblebees,  wood sprites and other various creatures with wings and a very short Transformer.   Wonderful!
