The Batman

I've always been able to amuse myself with simple things such as a calling Facebook "The Facebook" or my cell phone my "cellular telephone."  You can understand, therefore, how I also find it amusing when Commissioner Gordon calls Batman "The Batman" approximately 15 times in Christopher Nolan's latest Dark Night installment "The Dark Night Rises" which I finished about 30 minutes ago. In short, I loved the film. And although I did lean over and whisper to Ben that "this was a long movie" I enjoyed each of the 165 minutes of this film.

Here are my other thoughts on Bruce Wayne, Catwomen, and Alfred's accent (SPOILER ALERT):
- 10 minutes could easily have been shaved off during the multiple Bane/Batman punching sequences
- Anne Hathaway was born to play this role
- The ending was wonderful--tied up loose ends, came full circle, made me smile and want another movie.  Ben and I did feel like a little more mystery and vagueness may have been cool, despite the inevitable confusion of the less intelligent moviegoer
- Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a fave of mine since 10 Things I Hate About You...he does not disappoint...please let there be another sequel
- I knew there was a reason I didn't like Marion Cotilliard
- Ever since watching Starkid's Holy Musical Batman! I can't help but be distracted by Michael Cain's Alfred accent
