Oh well! Now, with the help of Google Calendar I will give you a whirlwind recap of the last seven days.
December 8: Ben renewed his driver's license. Way to go! I took five 4th and 5th graders to Alexian Village so they could show the residents (who donated over $700 to our reading club) how to use Nooks. It was excellent--especially when one of my students was told to read to a woman who kept insisting she couldn't hear anything. We ended the night at The Point of Grace where we had a dress rehearsal for our upcoming Christmas Concert. (New thing tally: 3)
December 9: We had our first Grace Book Club Christmas Party and it was a night to remember. We had spinach and cheese stuff meatloaf, roasted potatoes, strawberry & bleu cheese salad, and too many desserts to count. I tried mince pies for the first time ever and also made a delicious strawberry trifle. Another member brought homemade candy. In short, we enjoyed a wonderful night of scrumptious food, amazing conversation, and even a book gift exchange. (New thing tally: 3)

December 10: We went to see The Muppets. It was extremely enjoyable--and I am sorry I have no time for a review. Just know that Ben and I purchased the soundtrack immediately on our way home from the movie. (New thing tally: 1)
December 11: This was the day of our first time performing in The Point Of Grace Christmas Concert. It went very well and edified everyone in attendance. I conducted the choir and Ben ran sound and played TSax. December 12: Ummm...I didn't have Monday night band...for the first time this year... (New thing tally: 0 -- Come on, I'm not that desperate)
December 13: I realized spoons are ingenious! It happened like this: I've been slacking a bit on dishes which has led to an increasing shortage of all silverware in the Hohenstein household. This did not bode well for me yesterday when I poured my cereal and milk and then opened the silverware drawer to find one solitary, giant soup spoon remaining. Being the nice wife that I am, I left that for Ben and grabbed the first utensil I could find that might work. Unfortunately I grabbed a teaspoon. Note to self, they knew what they were doing when they designed spoons with a shallow cup. It took me about 3 bites of cereal before I realized that in order to get all milk and cereal bits out of my teaspoon I needed to insert the tsp. into my mouth, turn it upside down, and dump the contents onto my eager tongue. It took awhile to eat, and I have a new appreciation for actual spoons. (New thing tally: 1)
December 14: Well, today is still going on and I'm not sure I have anything worthy to talk about. We'll save today for tomorrow as I'm making an 11:30pm excursion to Chicago this evening which promises to be full of adventure...and coffee.

I would love to be closer in order to help you out with your dishes once again. Sorry I can't be there. Totally know what your talking about with the tsp. thing. I've done that before.
